The IHSA announced Wednesday that they will proceed with the 2020-21 winter sports schedule, which includes boys and girls basketball season, as planned. It defies an order from Gov. J.B. Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public Health.
While wrestling, a traditional winter sport, will shift from winter to summer season (starting in April), Illinois prep hoops fans --as of now-- will get a taste of their favorite sport starting Nov. 30, which is when games can commence.
It left fans excited and cautiously optimistic.
The announcement also left fans concerned. And some argued that the announcement raised more questions than answers.
How will this all look come November? It remains to be seen.
As with many things in COVID-19 world, it's still a fluid situation.
