Quenneville: Toews' absence ‘part of the process'

Jonathan Toews did not skate for the second consecutive day but coach Joel Quenneville was not calling it a setback as the Chicago Blackhawks prepared to host the St. Louis Blues today.

The Blackhawks captain skated four days in a row before taking Monday and Tuesday off. Quenneville said Toews was at the United Center getting treatment. Despite Toews taking two straight days off, Quenneville was not calling it a setback.

"Its part of the process. Some days are better than others but he knows his body," Quenneville said. "Well see how he is. Hopefully we get him back on the ice tomorrow."

Steve Montador did skate with the Blackhawks this morning but there is still no timetable for his return.

Ray Emery will get the start tonight against the Blues, who have won nine of their last 10 games. Emery has faced the Blues four times in his career; he's 3-1-0 with a 2.20 goals-against average.
