According to a report from CSNBayArea.com's Matt Steinmetz, Bulls power forward Taj Gibson will be among the players named to the USA Select Team.

The Select Team is a squad of younger NBA players who will work out with and scrimmage against candidates for the USA Basketball Olympic team in July at their training camp in Las Vegas, in preparation for the upcoming London Olympics.

Other players on the Select Team include former No. 1 draft pick John Wall of the Washington Wizards, New York Knicks guard Jeremy Lin, recently-named Most Improved Player award winner Ryan Anderson of the Orlando Magic and Sacramento Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins, according to CSNBayArea.com's report.

Gibson averaged 7.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks a game in 20.4 minutes off the bench during the regular season, but increased his production to 9.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per outing in the postseason for the Bulls in their first-round series defeat to Philadelphia, which saw starters Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah go down with injuries.

The former 26th overall pick out of USC in the 2009 NBA Draft, Gibson started during his first team all-rookie debut campaign, but has been a valuable contributor off the bench for the Bulls the past two seasons and is widely considered one of the better defensive big men in the league, as well as garnering a first-place ballot in the recent Sixth Man of the Year award voting.
