Report: Luongo has no interest to play in Chicago

Roberto Luongo trade rumors have continued circulating since the Canucks were eliminated from the playoffs by the eighth-seeded, Stanley Cup-winning Los Angeles Kings.

Ideas have floated around about Luongo being sent to Chicago or Toronto, but according to Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch, the goaltender won't be heading to the Windy City.

It's reported he will waive his no-trade clause only if he's traded to the Florida Panthers.

Told by very good source Canucks G Roberto Luongo has - to this point -- declined to waive no-trade clause to go to Blackhawks or Leafs. Aaron Portzline (@Aportzline) June 25, 2012
Only place Luongo is willing to be traded, as of today, is back to the Florida Panthers. Aaron Portzline (@Aportzline) June 25, 2012
Luongo was a member of the Panthers from 2000-2006 and loves the South Florida location. If this reports remains true deeper into the summer, the trade battle between Mike Gillis and Dale Tallon--who said he won't rearrange his entire roster to make the trade happen--will begin.
