Scott Harris named Cubs' director of baseball operations

The Cubs added Scott Harris to their front office on Thursday as the clubs new director of baseball operations.

Harris, 25, spent the last two years with Major League Baseball as an operations coordinator. He had previously interned with the Cincinnati Reds and Washington Nationals.

A native of Redwood City, Calif., Harris graduated from UCLA in 2009 and was attending Columbia Business School while working at Major League Baseball, assisting teams with transactions and procedural operations within the New York office.
