Sports Business Minute: Progress at Daytona Rising

Nearly two years into Daytona Rising, the $400 million project that is remaking Daytona International Speedway, major progress has been made.

The first bit of steel was laid down back in November 2013 and just a few months ago crews finished the massive tower with a steel finish at Daytona International Speedway.

"Just to give you a sense of perspective there is 40 million pounds of steel here," Comcast SportsNet Chicago Sports Business Insider Rick Horrow said. "That's one percent of the gross domestic output of steel in the entire United States."

The "next wonder of the world in the industry as far as facilities are concerned" is set to open in January 2016.
