Biggest storyline: Coach Rolando said the Green Wave may have "snuck up on some people" en route to an undefeated conference schedule last year. This year, they'll be the target. Can the Green Wave match last year's efforts and make a deep run in the 2019 postseason?
Names to watch this season: QB Anthony Holte (Sr.) and LB Luke Breier (Sr.)
Biggest holes to fill: The Green Wave played a ton of underclassmen last season and welcome back 18 returning starters (nine offense, nine defense), but overall numbers and depth can always be improved.
EDGY's Early Take: St. Edward and head coach Mike Rolando won last season despite having just 12 upperclassmen on the roster, and another year of experience will only raise the bar come August. The Green Wave will have some challenges on the schedule this fall, including playing 4A state champion IC Prep on Oct. 11. But I also see St. Edward as the team to beat in the Metro Suburban Red.
