Week 5 Bears Inactives: Akiem Hicks returns against the Raiders

Share

The Bears just released their inactives list, and for the first time in a couple weeks, the big story is who *isn't* on it:

That means Akiem Hicks and Kyle Long will both play against the Raiders on Sunday. Long had been nursing a hip injury all week, but was generally considered a good bet to play.

Hicks (knee) had been considered more of a gametime decision. He tested the knee before kickoff last Sunday against the Vikings, but ultimately decided that he wasn't ready. Given the tedious travel plans the Bears dealt with this week, Hicks' attendance on the transatlantic flight was a good indicator that he'd play.

"I feel like he’s getting better," Matt Nagy told reporters on Thursday. "I think that he’s improving, but I don’t want to make any predictions because it’s gonna be a gametime decision with him. I feel like this is a day-today thing with him, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed."
