USWNT's Nail-biting QF Win, Djokovic's Golden Slam Dream Ends: Tokyo Olympics Day 7 in Pictures

Team USA wrapped the seventh day of competition in Tokyo with the USWNT’s nail-biting quarterfinal soccer match against Netherlands, winning 4-4 in penalty kicks to move to the semifinals against Canada.

The men’s baseball team and women’s basketball team had their own victories tonight, with the baseball team winning its Olympic debut 8-1 against Israel. Maggie Steffens made history with the US water polo team, becoming the Olympian who have scored the most goals in women’s water polo.

Novak Djokovic’s Golden Slam dreams ended in Tokyo with his loss to Germany’s Alexander Zverev, dashing any chances of Djokovic being the first man and second tennis player to win an Olympic gold medal and all four major tennis tournaments within the same year.
