White Sox recall Axelrod, send down Stewart to AAA Charlotte

The Chicago White Sox announced today that right-handed pitcher Zach Stewart has been optioned to AAA Charlotte, and right-handed pitcher Dylan Axelrod has been recalled from AAA Charlotte.The 6-foot, 190-pound Axelrod is 0-1 with a 3.52 ERA in three appearances with the White Sox from April 27 to May 5 this year, including one start. He went 5-4 with a 3.18 ERA in 11 starts for the Knights this year, including 66 strikeouts in 68 innings pitched.Stewart was 1-2 with a 6.00 ERA with the White Sox this season. He was the losing pitcher last night after he surrendered six runs on nine hits, including four home runs, in 5.2 innings pitched.The Cubs defeated the White Sox 12-3.
