Former White Sox outfielder Adam Eaton was signed by the Los Angeles Angels Wednesday, per ESPN.

The news comes two days after Eaton was released by Chicago.

The 32-year-old was first designated for assignment on July 7, allowing room for outfielder Adam Engel, who is back from his injured-list stay.

Eaton was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 19th round of the 2010 MLB draft and was traded to the White Sox in a three-team deal among the Diamondbacks, Angels and the Sox in December 2013.

In his first stint with Chicago, Eaton batted .300 with 15 stolen bases in 2014. The Sox traded Eaton to the Washington Nationals for Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo López and Dane Dunning in 2016.

Eaton spent four years with the Nationals and won a World Series in 2019 before returning to the Sox in December 2020 on a one-year, $7 million contract.

The outfielder got off to a great start in his second stint with the Sox, including an Opening Day home run against the Angels, but a slump followed mid-April. His leg issues also landed him on the 10-day injured list in June.

Brian Goodwin and rookie Gavin Sheets took over right field during the Baltimore series before the All-Star break. Eaton has practiced with Sheets to help him learn the new position as the injury bug bites White Sox outfielders.

"For him to take me out there to right field and show me the ropes — and obviously I'm new to this — I'm all ears. A great guy to learn from," Sheets told NBC Sports Chicago earlier this month.

Eaton will head to the Angels batting .201 with five homers and 28 RBIs in 58 games.
