Another White Sox pitching prospect got a promotion this weekend.

Dane Dunning was the first of the organization's highly ranked prospects to move up a level, going from Class A to Double-A earlier this season. Now it's Jordan Stephens, the White Sox No. 20 prospect, moving from Double-A Birmingham to Triple-A Charlotte.

Stephens put up some great numbers at Birmingham, a 2.95 ERA in seven starts. His last four starts there were especially impressive, Stephens going 4-0 with a 0.76 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 23.2 innings.

Stephens was a fifth-round draft pick in 2015. He made just 16 starts at Birmingham after missing the first two months of last season with an injury, but he was pretty good when he was on the mound, finishing with a 3.14 ERA.

Things have gone poorly at the big league level for the White Sox, their 9-27 record the worst in baseball. But promotions like this show the progress the front office was hoping to see from its young players in 2018.
