Chicago mayor celebrates White Sox clinching

The White Sox are headed to the playoffs for the first time since 2008.

And Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot, sent out a celebratory tweet because she is a huge White Sox fan.

It’s a little subdued as far as celebrations go, like the players on the field. But the White Sox have business still to attend to, the team and their fanbase have eyes on a bigger prize, winning the World Series.

Not to mention the Mayor probably has more pressing business than celebrating the White Sox as the city continues to navigate their way through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lightfoot also is a White Sox season ticket holder and hasn't been shy about her fandom in a divided, two-team town.

When the pandemic first began, Lightfoot posted a humorous "Stay Home, Save Lives" video that allowed her to share and incorporate her White Sox fandom.

Onto October!
