Daily White Sox prospects update: Dane Dunning makes first start at Double-A

Here's your daily update on what the White Sox highly touted prospects are doing in the minor leagues.

Double-A Birmingham

After being promoted from Class A Winston-Salem, Dane Dunning made his first start at the Double-A level, and it went pretty well. The White Sox No. 6 prospect allowed three runs in six innings, giving up five hits and two walks and striking out four batters. Seby Zavala hit his team-leading sixth home run of the season and walked twice. Eloy Jimenez had two hits, including a double, plus two runs scored and an RBI. And Zack Collins had a hit and a walk in a 7-3 win.

Class A Winston-Salem

Luis Alexander Basabe homered for the third time this season and stole his third base of the campaign. Blake Rutherford had two hits and Gavin Sheets had two walks in a 7-3 loss.

Class A Kannapolis

Kade McClure gave up two runs in 4.2 innings. Though he walked four in a 4-3 loss, his ERA is 2.48 on the season.
