Eloy Jiménez is back in the White Sox starting lineup after he missed both games of Tuesday's doubleheader in Cleveland.
Jiménez crashed into the outfield wall during the first inning of Sunday's game against the Minnesota Twins at Guaranteed Rate Field. And though he stayed in the game after that play, he was removed with what the team called light-headedness the following inning.
Jiménez was not in the lineup Monday, when the White Sox series-opener against the Indians was rained out. He took batting practice and worked out with the team Tuesday but was not in the lineup for either of the White Sox losses as the team waited for him to be cleared by the league.

"As far as Eloy, he was checked out again. Everything looks really good," manager Rick Renteria said following Tuesday's doubleheader. "Followed all the protocols, took BP today. We're hoping to get clearance for him here in the next few days, if not sooner. But everything's been checked out, and he looks good. But we still need to go through all the protocol and submit all the information to MLB before they decide to clear him."
The White Sox got the green light for Wednesday's series finale at Progressive Field.
While certain White Sox fans have zeroed in on Renteria's lineups for not looking like what they thought they'd look like before the season started, some of that can undoubtedly be chalked up to the absences of Jiménez, in recent days, and fellow corner outfielder Nomar Mazara, who has been out of action for a week and a half and is currently on the injured list for an unspecified reason. Mazara reported to the team's alternate training site in Schaumburg on Tuesday, where he will have a rehab assignment of sorts before rejoining the major league team.

With Jiménez returning to action, those fans are likely to be a bit happier with how Renteria's lineup looks for the final game in Cleveland.
