ESPN forgets about Chicago White Sox, again, in ‘Long Gone Summer'

What did the White Sox ever do to ESPN? For the umpteenth time, ESPN wrote the White Sox out of history, this time in their documentary “Long Gone Summer.”

While Sosa didn’t get much screen time in the 30 for 30 film, when his background was discussed the movie went into his younger days with the Rangers, and then poof! He was with the Cubs!

Forgotten was Sosa establishing himself in the majors on the South Side, stealing bases of all things. Not even a mention of the move that brought him to the Cubs, the trade between the two Chicago teams: Sosa for George Bell.

ESPN has forgotten the White Sox won the World Seriesseveral times. Seriously, it happens a lot. They’ve slighted Frank Thomas too.

So this should come as no surprise, but it’s frustrating nonetheless.
