There’s no White Sox baseball to watch on Thursday, but White Sox legend and Hall of Famer Frank Thomas is calling on fans to celebrate baseball’s new year from home.

In a video tweeted by Goose Island on Thursday, Thomas encouraged fans to continue socially distancing themselves and celebrate Opening Day, even with no games, by tailgating at home.

Thomas also shared his favorite Opening Day memory: 1996, when he hit a first-pitch home run off Mariners’ ace Randy Johnson.
