That's the one word White Sox legend Frank Thomas needed to describe the Cubs' blowout win on the South Side.
"After what happened in Cleveland to this team, to come home to your own ballpark and play like you played tonight, it's absolutely embarrassing," Thomas said.
The White Sox have slid from atop the American League to fighting to avoid a Wild Card spot in the final series of the season, including getting swept in a four-game series in Cleveland, including two walk-off losses.
Back-to-back walk off losses are easier to stomach. Getting blown out 10-0 at home by your crosstown rival, not so much.
Thomas had a message for the team.
"This organization's got way more pride than that," Thomas continued. "You're playing the Cubs, if you can't get up for the North Side, somethings wrong internally inside that clubhouse. It's gotta be fixed, it better be fixed in a hurry. Because tonight was absolutely embarrassing.
"...They're lucky the fans are not in the ballpark right now, because I can tell you right now how uncomfortable it would be to play in this ballpark at this particular time right now.”
The Sox host the Cubs two more times before the regular season wraps up, and the good guys desperately need two wins to try and build some momentum heading into the postseason.
