Game summary: In the second matchup of a four-game set with the Orioles, the White Sox found themselves in a much more manageable deficit after going down by a touchdown in the first inning on Thursday.

Baltimore first got to Gio Gonzalez in the second inning via an Andrew Velazquez two-run homer to center field. He followed that up in the 3rd with an RBI single down the left field line. The Orioles were up 3-0 through three.

The White Sox temporarily erased the Orioles' lead in the middle innings. Eloy Jimenez continues to come through in the clutch, crushing a two-run homer 455 feet to center in the fourth. Luis Robert scored on an error by second baseman Ramon Urias. In the fifth, Robert put the South Siders ahead 5-4 with a bloop single to right field.

After a two-run blast by Pedro Severino off Jace Fry in the sixth, the White Sox offense had another comeback effort on their plate. Tim Anderson re-tied the game with an RBI single in the bottom half of the frame. Nomar Mazara, acquired for his power, put them ahead for good with a three-run jack to right in the 7th.

The White Sox outlasted the Orioles 9-6 in a back-and-forth affair.
