Former MLB pitcher Octavio Dotel has reportedly been arrested in the Dominican Republic for involvement in narcotics and organized crime. Luis Castillo, another MLB vet, is also reportedly involved in the operation.

Dotel and Castillo have been linked to narcotics trafficking and money laundering, linked to alleged drug kingpin César Emilio Peralta. There has been no official word yet on how involved the ex-players were in the network. Dominican Republic attorney general Jean Alain Rodriguez called it the "largest operation against organized crime" in the country, according to Marly Rivera of ESPN.

Both players are native to the Dominican Republic. Octavio Dotel played in the MLB from 1999 to 2013, including a stint on the Chicago White Sox in ’08 and ’09. Luis Castillo played second base in the MLB from 1996 to 2010, unrelated to the Cincinnati Reds pitcher of the same name.
