NBC Sports Chicago to replay Tom Seaver's 300th MLB win

*Chicago, IL – NBC Sports Chicago has announced it will replay TOM SEAVER’s 300th MLB victory tomorrow night (Thursday, September 10) at 7:00 PM CT.  This original WFLD-TV Chicago White Sox telecast from August 4, 1985 features the legendary, 40-year-old future Hall of Famer’s spectacular complete game road performance against the New York Yankees, a game in which he allowed just one run with seven strikeouts.  The late Don Drysdale and White Sox broadcasting legend Ken “Hawk” Harrelson provided the call of the game.  NOTE: NBC Sports Chicago will re-air this game on Friday, Sept. 11 at 2:00 PM.

Seaver spent three seasons in a White Sox uniform (1984-86) and enjoyed his best season on the southside in 1985 posting a 16-11 record with a 3.17 ERA.  A three-time Cy Young award winner and a 12-time All-Star, Seaver led the National League in wins three times (1969, 1975, 1981), in ERA three times (1970, 1971, 1973) and strikeouts five times (1970, 1971, 1973, 1975, 1976).  Among the numerous highlights in Seaver’s illustrious 20-year MLB career include his dominating 25-7 record/2.21 ERA, as he led the 1969 New York Mets to their first ever World Series Championship.  Seaver, who passed away on August 31 at the age of 75, finished his MLB career with 311 wins, a 2.86 ERA and 3,640 strikeouts.
