Olney: White Sox are ‘safety net' for Manny Machado *and* Bryce Harper

Share

Here's some good/bad news, depending on who you want playing on the White Sox next year.

ESPN's Buster Olney went on 'Get Up!' today to talk about the stagnant free agent market, and gave an update on where he thinks Machado/Harper's camps are.

Here's the money quote:

“By the end of the month… At some point I think you’re going to see either Harper or Machado jump on an offer that the Phillies have made. And the feeling is the Chicago White Sox are a safety net for both those guys as well.”

The good news is apparently Bryce Harper is still seriously considering the White Sox?! The bad news is that the White Sox also may be Manny Machado's backup team? But he had those black and white gloves made!

The worst news of all is that Olney still thinks this won't be resolved for another 2 weeks. See you in early March.
