Danny Farquhar took another significant step in his incredible journey back to pitching.

The White Sox reliever threw off flat ground to a catcher in an Instagram video he posted Thursday night. This comes just over a month after he threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the White Sox game on June 1.

In April, Farquhar was carried out of the home dugout at Guaranteed Rate Field after suffering a brain hemorrhage. There was a chance he would never throw another pitch in his life.

The 31-year-old continues to fight his way back to the mound. He was discharged from RUSH University Hospital after 17 days with a message from doctors saying he would be cleared to pitch again.

Players, coaches and people around the country have supported the pitcher’s battle. Farquhar has been a true national sensation with interviews aired on “The Today Show” and “Good Morning America.” White Sox players have even honored him by writing “D.F. #43” on their hats.

At one point, he was in critical condition, but Farquhar has been optimistic about his chances to pitch again.

“I think I’ll be back there one day,” Farquhar said last month.

The hashtags on his Instagram post say it best; Farquhar is “#determined” and ready for a “#comeback.”
