With the playoffs underway - and the White Sox not in them - we decided to look back on the 2019 season and take a glance into the future. The ‘team of the future’ just might have a lot to offer… and it might already be here.

We sat down with our Chuck Garfien, Vinnie Duber, Leila Rahimi, Ozzie Guillen and Scott Merkin, White Sox writer for MLB.com, to get their take on the South Siders.

There's a common theme among all thsoe asked about what the 2020 White Sox will be...

Chuck Garfien - "Competing for a wild card."

Vinnie Duber - "They will be in playoff contention."

Leila Rahimi - "The 2020 White Sox will be better." 

Scott Merkin - "The 2020 White Sox will be playing meaningful baseball in September."

There's no doubt that expectations are high for the young team going into the 2020 season, but the question remains... is what the White Sox have now enough to get it done? What offseason moves need to be made for the White Sox to become the team everyone is hoping them to be.

With Luis Robert and Nick Madrigal set to join the club sometime during the season, fans can expect the upcoming season at Guaranteed Rate Field to be an exciting one. It all comes down to how the young core improves and builds consistency.

Only time will tell what happens but things are looking up for the team with so many young prospects on the rise.
