The White Sox roster for the AL Wild Card Series against the Oakland Athletics is here.

The team announced its 28-man roster Tuesday, before the start of Game 1 in Northern California.

Of note, Leury García is part of the roster. He makes his return from an extended injury absence. He severed a ligament in his thumb while sliding into first base in mid August. His return gives the White Sox another option at a variety positions, perhaps none more important than the corner-outfield spots, where Eloy Jiménez is attempting to come back from a foot injury and Nomar Mazara experienced a season-long slump.

Zack Collins is also a part of the White Sox first-round roster, which allows Rick Renteria to put both of his All-Star catchers, Yasmani Grandal and James McCann, in the lineup at the same time while still having an emergency backup in case of injury.

As expected, Garrett Crochet is on the roster. He was incredibly impressive in his first 10 days as a major leaguer, which came just a few months after the White Sox selected him with the No. 11 pick in the June draft. He figures to be a valuable weapon out of the bullpen.

Notably absent was Reynaldo López, who entered the final weekend of the regular season as a candidate to start a potential third game in this series. He struggled mightily against the Cubs on Sunday, recording just four outs and giving up three home runs before being lifted in the second inning.
