More fans will be able to take in White Sox home games at Guaranteed Rate Field.
The team announced Thursday that it received approval from city and state officials to increase capacity to 60 percent, beginning with the May 24 game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Additionally, the White Sox announced that they will offer two vaccinated-only sections for fans who show proof of receiving a COVID-19 vaccination for the four-game series this weekend against the Kansas City Royals. Those sections will offer seating without social distancing, which has been in place throughout the ballpark to this point and will continue outside of those specific sections.

Beginning May 24, the White Sox will also be offering a pair of vaccination sites at Guaranteed Rate Field, with any fan who receives a vaccination before a game also receiving a $25 gift card for use inside the ballpark. The team will continue to promote vaccinations through public-address announcements and scoreboard messaging.
Much like when the White Sox players, coaches and traveling staff members received their vaccinations earlier this season, the team has taken a strong stand in promoting vaccination for the benefit of the South Side community, the City of Chicago and fans everywhere.
It's important to note that increased capacity does not mean the relaxing of health and safety measures inside the ballpark. Mask-wearing, enhanced sanitization and other important measures will continue to be in place.
