Luis Robert has officially earned the first award of his career. On Wednesday, MLB announced Robert won the A.L. Rookie of the Month award for his play in August.

Including that statline, Robert hit a walkoff homer on August 30th to give the White Sox a 10th-inning win. His 2.1 WAR and 1.0 dWAR also lead **all** A.L. position players, not just rookies.

Robert wowed White Sox fans and began garnering national attention starting on Opening Day, after he signed a six-year, $50 million extension in January. Now he’s a favorite to win A.L. Rookie of the Year.

The White Sox have gone back-to-back with Rookie of the Month awards, in a sense. Eloy Jiménez won the award in September 2019.

MLB also recognized José Abreu this month as he won the A.L. Player of the Month award.
