The White Sox got the hot stove cookin' Thursday.

The South Siders added some pitching depth, swapping minor league infielder Justin Yurchak for minor league pitcher Manny Banuelos, who comes over from the Los Angeles Dodgers organization.

Banuelos is a former top prospect, ranked in the top 15 in baseball by MLB.com ahead of the 2012 season.

Banuelos, who spent many a year in the New York Yankees organization, made six big league starts (and a relief appearance) with the Atlanta Braves back in 2015. He gave up 15 earned runs and four homers in his 26.1 innings of work.

More recently, he spent the 2018 season with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City. Banuelos posted a 3.73 ERA in his 108.2 innings, making 18 starts in his 31 appearances.

The 27-year-old left-hander has a 3.56 ERA in his 10 minor league seasons.

Yurchak, meanwhile, leaves the White Sox organization after they made him a 12th-round pick in last year's draft. The 22-year-old had a .256/.348/.326 slash line with Class A Kannapolis in 2018.
