Luis Robert has gone deep in a regular-season game.
The much hyped rookie outfielder hit his first major league home run Sunday against the division-rival Minnesota Twins, giving the White Sox something positive in an otherwise rough afternoon at Guaranteed Rate Field.
The White Sox had just three hits when Robert stepped in against Twins pitcher Kenta Maeda in a 10-0 game in the bottom of the fifth inning. But with a runner on base — Adam Engel's second double of the afternoon gave Robert a runner in scoring position — the rookie blasted a ball out of center field for his first big league dinger.

Robert's off to a nice start, just three games into his major league career. He picked up three hits, including a double, in the first two games of the White Sox series against the Twins before adding the homer Sunday.
Nearly every ball he's struck has been smoked, with exit velocities jumping off the charts. His home run Sunday left the bat at 111.4 miles an hour.

Home-run power is just one of the many tools Robert has in a jam-packed toolbox. He can also wow with defensive prowess in center field, blazing speed on the base paths and the ability to knock hits all over the field.
But there's no highlight in baseball better than the home run, and Robert figures to hit a bunch of them. No. 1 is in the books.
