While Billy Kennedy has yet to lead Texas A&M to the NCAA tournament since taking over in 2011, that’s a fact that many expect to change in 2015-16. Leading scorer Danuel House leads the way amongst returnees, and a highly regarded recruiting class loaded with front court prospects is expected to help matters as well.

Friday Texas A&M announced its full non-conference schedule, with an appearance in the always tough Battle 4 Atlantis tournament and a home game against Iowa State being the most noteworthy games. Iowa State, a Final Four-caliber team which will visit Reed Arena January 30 (as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge) for the first time since the Aggies left the Big 12, are one of three Big 12 opponents on Texas A&M’s schedule.

The other two Big 12 opponents are Kansas State and Baylor with the Wildcats visiting College Station December 12 and the Bears, who are also expected to be an NCAA tournament team, showing up a week later.

Texas A&M will play four home games within an eight-day period to at the start of the season, beginning with USC Upstate November 13. The Battle 4 Atlantis, played in The Bahamas, runs from November 25-27 with Charlotte, Connecticut, Gonzaga, Michigan, Syracuse, Texas and Washington being the other seven teams in the event.

Matchups for the tournament have yet to be announced, and one would think that a possible matchup with the rival Longhorns would gain some interest during Thanksgiving weekend (especially given scheduling “issues” between the two programs since the Aggies left the Big 12). Texas A&M will host FGCU December 2, with their lone non-conference road game scheduled for December 5 at Arizona State.
