Friday morning Parade Magazine released its annual list of high school all-americans, with two players headed to ACC programs earning top individual honors. Guard Luke Kennard, who’s headed to Duke to play for the reigning national champions, was named Boys Player of the Year while Louisville signee Asia Durr won the Girls Player of the Year award.

Kennard finished his career at Franklin (Ohio) HS second on the state’s career scoring list, and his ability to put points on the board will come in handy for a team looking to account for the loss of four starters. According to Parade, Durr was a two-time Miss Basketball selection at St. Pius X Catholic HS in Atlanta, and both are expected to at the very least try out for their respective United States Under-19 teams this summer.

From a college standpoint, California and Kentucky are among those with multiple all-americans on the boys team. California’s represented by Jaylen Brown and Ivan Rabb, with Kentucky being able to claim Isaiah Briscoe and Skal Labissiere. Also having multiple future players on the team are Duke and LSU, with Brandon Ingram joining Kennard on the team and future Tigers Antonio Blakeney and Ben Simmons making the cut.

On the girls team, UConn, Kentucky and Notre Dame are three of the programs with multiple signees honored. Geno Auriemma will add all-americans Napheesa Collier and Katie Lou Samuelsson to his program this summer, with Kentucky (Maci Morris and Taylor Murray) boasting two and Notre Dame (Marina Mabrey, Arike Ogunbowale and Ali Patberg) three signees respectively.

Duke, Baylor and Michigan also have multiple signees on the girls team, and guard Guirantes Arella (Bellport HS, Brookhaven, New York) is the only unsigned player on either of the two all-america teams.
