Jimmer wins AP player of the year; bad news for Kentucky?

Jimmer Fredette claimed yet another award, this time winning the AP Player of the Year.

The nation’s leading scorer snagged 48 of 65 votes, all of which were tabulated before the NCAA tournament. He’s the first to lead the nation in scoring and win AP player of the year since Glenn Robinson did so for Purdue in 1994.

Connecticut’s Kemba Walker finished second in the voting – which may not bode well for Kentucky.

The last time Walker lost out on an award, UConn ripped off five wins in five days.

Big Blue Nation should hope DeAndre Liggins is up for the challenge.
