Marquette lands Loyola Marymount transfer Gabe Levin

Marquette added another piece to the puzzle on Tuesday afternoon as a source confirmed with that Loyola Marymount transfer Gabe Levin committed to the Golden Eagles.

Levin picked Marquette over other finalists Northwestern and Notre Dame.

The 6-foot-7 Levin will have three years of eligibility remaining for Marquette after sitting out the 2014-15 season due to NCAA transfer rules. A native of Oak Park, Illinois, Levin was third in scoring and led Loyola Marymount in rebounding last season as he averaged 11.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in his freshman season.

Levin also registered 1.2 blocks per game and shot 41 percent from the field and 24 percent from the three-point line last season.

The addition of Levin should give new Golden Eagles head coach Steve Wojciechowski an athletic front-line presence, and although he struggled from the perimeter a bit, Levin is skilled enough to hit some shots as well.
