Michigan hoops already thinking about next season

When you’ve lost six straight games and seven of your last eight, it might be time to start thinking about next season. Example A: Michigan hoops.

The Wolverines dropped to 11-9 overall and 1-6 in the Big Ten after Saturday’s loss to Minnesota, but they did have a bright spot in freshman Tim Hardaway Jr.

“Tim really has helped our team chemistry, really helped everything that we’re trying to do,” Michigan coach John Beilein told Michael Rothstein of “He still is a freshman, he’s still going to make mistakes. But there are not a whole lot of freshmen in the country putting up 20 against Minnesota.

“He’s going to be very good.”

Hardaway’s second on the team in scoring (11.8 ppg), third in rebounding (3.8 rpg) and third in assists. Given his pedigree, I’d say that’s a nice building block for John Beilein.

And man, does that team ever need it.
