Earlier this month, Alabama forward Devonta Pollard was arrested and charged in conjunction with the kidnapping of a six-year old girl over a family land dispute.

Given that he was facing a serious felony charge, one could only imagine that Pollard would only be a member of the Crimson Tide for so long, and on Wednesday afternoon, it appears that the other shoe dropped.

According to a report from Gary Parrish of, Pollard is no longer enrolled at Alabama. He was going to try to continue his career at a Junior College, but it would be a tough sell for any program to allow a kid with a kidnapping charge hanging over their head to enroll before the legal process plays out. Pollard may not be playing college basketball next season.

Pollard has had a tough go of it the last couple of years. His father died of cancer in 2009 and in 2011, his house in DeKalb, MS, burned down.

He averaged 3.9 points and 3.1 boards for Alabama his freshman season.
