Five South Carolina players have been suspended indefinitely by coach Frank Martin, the school announced Tuesday night just before the Gamecocks were set to tip off in their first-round NIT matchup.

TeMarcus Blanton, Eric Cobb, Jamall Gregory, Chris Silva and Marcus Stroman were the five players suspended for what was called a “conduct issue.”

Silva and Strotman are role players for South Carolina, averaging 13.3 and 14.8 minutes per game, respectively. Blanton. Cobb and Gregory each average less than 10 minutes per game and have made infrequent appearances for the team.

South Carolina is the No. 1 seed in Region 3 and plays No. 8 Seed High point in its opening game.
