Virginia Commonwealth loses four seniors from its surprising Final Four team. It’s also losing a key sub.
Toby Veal, a 6-8 forward who would’ve been entering his senior year, is leaving the team, CAA Hoops reported Sunday.
“We’re very appreciative of Toby’s contribution to our program,” coach Shaka Smart told CAA Hoops. “He is a fine young man and we wish him nothing but the best in the future.”
Veal played 30 games in 2010-11. He averaged 2.5 points and 2.2 rebounds a game. He might’ve thrived as a senior, though. His six-point, five-rebound game in the Eight Eight vs. Kansas was his best of the season.
