Video: Boeheim’s Orange experienced, but plenty of teaching needed

Most teams that return four starters and all their key reserves from a 27-win team that finished third in the Big East end up as one of the national title favorites.

Not Syracuse. And not that it’s bad.

As Orange coach Jim Boeheim notes in the video below, some might cast ‘Cuse in the same light as No. 1 North Carolina because of the returning experience. But the two teams aren’t quite the same.

So why is this potentially a good thing? Hey, when you can avoid massive expectations yet return 82 percent of your offensive production and 72 percent of your defensive production (stats courtesy of Basketball Prospectus preview; buy it here) that’s a recipe for success – without the added pressure.

Guessing Boeheim doesn’t mind that. Even if it does require extra teaching.
