Tulsa has received a verbal commitment from graduate senior OT Darrell Simpson, formerly of Oklahoma.
Simpson (6'7/358) was a four-star recruit from the 2018 recruiting class who has seen little action in four seasons with the Sooners. Now as a graduate transfer, Simpson will hope to salvage what little football he has left with Tulsa this upcoming season. Simpson played on just nine offensive snaps during his time with the Sooners, but ws regarded as the 14th-best OT of his recruiting class.

  • Oklahoma redshirt junior OT Darrell Simpson entered the transfer portal.
Simpson (6'7/358) is a former four-star caliber recruit who was considered the 14th best tackle prospect from the 2018 prep cycle. The giant tackle has been a good soldier sticking around for four years despite receiving just nine total snaps in that time frame. With his spot on the depth chart not improving any time soon under new OC Jeff Lebby, Simpson will look to see if he can find more playing time elsewhere for his last two seasons of eligibility.

  • Oklahoma signed four-star 2018 T Darrell Simpson.
Simpson (6'6/337) was recently added to the Army All-American Game, and picked Oklahoma over offers from Auburn, Georgia, Florida and LSU, among other high-profile schools. 247 Sports ranks him 14th among tackles, while ESPN ranks him 21st at the position.
