Yep, that’s right, 130 yards on one single drive. Or, as Boston College would put it, one helluva four quarters of offensive football.
While it will go in the books officially as an 80-yard drive, Michigan State, thanks to three personal fouls (???) and a five-yard ineligible man downfield penalty, was forced to plow through 130 yards of real yardage in taking an early 7-3 lead on Larry Capers’ 1-yard touchdown run.
All of the above begs two questions. One, was Michigan’s defense aware of the noon start time? And, two, three freaking personal fouls on one drive?
I understand it’s a rivalry game, but damn Mark Dantonio. Get your boys under control.
