Cincinnati and head coach Brian Kelly have reached an agreement in principle, the Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting, on a deal that not only addresses the head coach’s contract, but provides “in-line” compensation for his assistants as well.Part of Kelly’s new pact with the university would ensure the assistant coaches on his staff be paid the going rate for an assistant in the Big East. That, Kelly said, was a big part of the deal for him.”We’re just waiting to sign the contact,” Kelly told the paper. “It’s just a formality. We’ve added some language relative to keeping our assistant coaches paid accordingly within the league and relative to moving the program forward relative to facilities. Those were the bullet points for me."The new deal runs through the 2013 season, the paper reported.
