It certainly didn’t take too long for Chris Petersen to find a replacement for former secondary coach and co-defensive coordiantor Marcel Yates.
Good thing too; National Signing Day is right around the corner.
The school confirmed today -- a day after Yates departed for Texas A&M -- that Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive backs coach Jimmy Lake was coming to the Broncos in the same capacity.
“Jimmy brings a lot of experience and knowledge to our program,” Petersen said in a release. “He is an awesome person and the players are going to love playing for him.”
Lake has been with the Bucs for the past two seasons and also had another stint in Tampa from 2006-07. In 2008, he was the DB’s coach for the Detroit Lions. Lake’s collegiate experience has been entirely in the northwestern part of the United States, where he coached at Eastern Washington, Washington and Montana State.
