Buckeye’s Pryor getting his pass on

Ohio State’s Terrelle Pryor has been on the receiving end of some pretty harsh criticism for his ability, or inability as the case may be, to be successful in the passing game.

At least for one night, Pryor is answering those critics, scoring-wise.

The sophomore quarterback has thrown for three touchdowns in helping Ohio State to a 24-7 lead at halftime over Indiana, although that score is not indicative as to the ease with which the Buckeyes have dominated the Hoosiers.

While Pryor’s three TDs will be on the highlight reel, it’s the ground game that’s allowing the Buckeyes to chew up both the clock and their Big Ten opponent. In the first half alone, tOSU has rushed for 183 yards on 28 carries.

First-time starter Brandon Saine -- in the starting lineup because of an injury to Boom Herron -- leads the way with 80 yards, while Pryor’s rushing total (75) nearly matches his passing yardage (96).

The running game has allowed the Buckeyes to hold over a two-to-one advantage -- 20:59 to 9:01 -- on the potent Hoosiers offense.
