“This is an unfortunate situation for Stanley,” head coach Rick Neuheisel said. “I expect Stanley to work hard to ensure this situation does not occur again. We expect him to help us on the scout team this year and work himself into a contributor for 2011.”
The eligibility issue comes three months after Neuheisel said he was giving the sophomore “one last chance” after lifting his suspension for violating unspecified team rules back in December. Additionally, Hasiak left the team a total of two times during the season to return to Hawaii for “personal reasons”.
Less than a year later, it appears Hasiak’s career as a Bruin is over.
According to the Los Angeles Times, and citing a person in the program who was not authorized to speak publicly, Hasiak is once again academically ineligible and is expected to transfer. The Times reports that Hasiak is expected to transfer to the JUCO ranks -- Mt. San Antonio to be specific.
Hasiak, a four-star member of the Bruins’ 2009 recruiting class and the No. 4 guard in the country according to Rivals.com, played in three games as a true freshman, and then apparently decided to piss a Div. 1-A scholarship away.
