Georgia Tech could very well be one of the teams lining up in their hometown of Atlanta for the Chick-fil-A Kickoff game in 2013.
According to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution blog, Chick-fil-A Bowl president Gary Stokan says he has been in close talks with Tech coach Paul Johnson and athletic director Dan Radakovich. Both have expressed interest in playing the game as well since it is, practically, a home game for the Jackets.
“We want to get Tech into the Chick-fil-A Kickoff game, particularly when we open the [college football] hall [of fame], which is ‘13, the first year the hall will be open,” Stokan said.
A game between Georgia Tech and USC for this season was reportedly in the works prior to the firing of former USC AD Mike Garrett. Georgia and Boise State will play in this season’s matchup.
