GOPHER CANDIDATE PULLS NAME FROM CONSIDERATION

A search that has seemingly gone on for months -- and has linked everybody, their brother, and their brother’s gardener and/or barber to the position -- has officially lost one of its contenders.According to the Daily Oklahoman, Gunter Brewer has withdrawn his name from consideration for the vacant Minnesota offensive coordinator position.Brewer, the current coordinator at Oklahoma State, interviewed for the position last week. While the assistant’s official title is coordinator, Brewer does not call the plays on game day; that responsibility falls on head coach/mad scientist Mike Gundy.Gundy has hinted recently that he may give up that responsibility as early as this season. If he were to do that, Brewer would likely be the first in line to take over the play-calling duties. With Brewer officially dropping out of the running, that leaves the Grophers a pool of approximately 7,483 interviewed candidates from which to choose.
