The Miami job is not the only one having potential candidates throw their names into the conversation today. Houston Nutt has expressed an interest in the new vacancy in Orlando at UCF.

Nutt has not coached a game since 2011, his final season with Ole Miss. Between stops as a head coach at Murray State, Boise State, Arkansas and Ole Miss, there is no doubt Nutt has a grasp for the college football landscape, and his 135-96 record suggests he can win some ballgames. His tenure at Ole Miss did not end well though, with a recruiting controversy hovering over the program after recruiting 37 players leading to the start of the Houston Nutt Rule limiting teams to signing 28 football recruits.
Nutt currently does TV work for CBS’ college football coverage as a studio analyst.
George O’Leary resigned as UCF’s head coach effective immediately on Sunday. On the same day, Miami fired Al Golden. Earlier today former Hurricanes head coach Butch Davis expressed his interest in returning to Miami.
