Fresh off their upset win over the Trojans, Washington will be down an important man at the wide receiver position when they travel to play Stanford, the Seattle Times is reporting.
Devin Aguilar, who started two of the the Huskies’ three games this season, suffered a sprained knee in practice Wednesday and has been ruled out of the game against the Cardinal.
Even though Jordan Polk is ahead of him on the depth chart, Cody Bruns will get the start, head coach Steve Sarkisian said.
“It’s a good opportunity for Cody Bruns to play more, to get him out there catching passes and running around,” Sarkisian said. “It’s unfortunate because Devin, up to that point, has been playing well. I don’t think it will be a long injury. We expect to see him next week.”
Bruns has yet to catch a pass in 2009.
