Injury costs Tide a starting LB

Alabama’s vaunted defense has taken a bit of a hit early on in their game with Arkansas, losing one of the most talented members of its front seven for the duration.

In the middle of the first quarter, and after the offense had staked the Tide to a 7-0 lead, linebacker C.J. Mosley suffered an elbow injury attempting to make a sideline tackle. Mosley’s arm was placed in a sling and he was subsequently led into the locker room for further testing.

It’s now being reported that Mosley will not return. The exact nature and extent of the injury is not yet known.

Mosley played in 13 games with three starts as a true freshman in 2010, and started the first four games this season.

The Tide and Razorbacks are currently tied at seven early in the second quarter.
