It’s Official: ‘Bama Forced To Vacate Wins

In a move that was widely reported by multiple media outlets last night and early this morning, as part of their NCAA sanctions, the Alabama Crimson Tide will be forced to vacate all football wins from the 2005-2007 seasons in which players involved in the textbook scandal were involved.The report made public today did not specify exactly how many wins would be stripped from the record books, but earlier reports said the school could lose at least ten victories from that time period.Additionally, the athletic program will be on probation for the next three years and the university was fined $43,900.The report stated that 201 student-athletes were involved in the case. Athletes from 16 different sports at the university took part in receiving receiving impermissible benefits.One unnamed football player reportedly received in improper materials. Seven football players total were identified as “intentional wrongdoers”.
